Noelle Timmons was raised in Ventura, California, and grew up in an artistic family drawing and painting from an early age. Timmons received her BFA from Laguna College of Art and Design and focused on painting, illustration, and sculpture. She later moved to New York and received her MFA from the New York Academy of Art. In 2012 she was awarded the LIA Art Programme residency in Leipzig, Germany, and in 2013 was asked to create an original egg sculpture for Faberge's city-wide event, The Big Egg Hunt NYC. Timmons received her earliest public arts project as a high school student and has since continued to create large-scale works and paintings for New York based artists and muralists. Timmons has been included in shows throughout California and New York, and her work has received acclaim in the Huffington Post, and E-VOLVED Magazine.

Timmons creates work that draws upon the aesthetics and vibrancy of the West Coast environment she was raised in. It’s the endlessly lush foothills, the arid mountains, the Pacific Ocean and powerful lighting of the Sunshine State that permeate Timmons’ motivation and creative intuition. She works predominantly in oil on canvas and panel and in acrylics on silk. Her work focuses on complex combinations of color and light, and she continually works to maintain the sublime effects of chroma and illumination.

Her subject matter showcases the associative iconography of landscape and the naked body, as well as the haunting and salient qualities of memory and adolescence. Timmons’ interest in rich and opulent aestheticism stems from a nagging awareness of the power in seductive and distracting imagery and its parallels to wider and deeper issues reflecting our wrought relationship with pleasure and immediate gratification.
